What Others Are Saying

I had constant lower back pain and pain shooting down my left leg for ten years. I could not do physical activities and had tried various methods for relief, everything except surgery. After my initial consultation I decided to begin treatment the following week. I have had no pain since the third week of treatment and I take no pain pills for first time in ten years. Thanks! I had excruciating pain day and night in my lower back, hips and groin. I tried many methods but the pain always resurfaced. A debilitating illness left me unable to take pain relievers and most nights I couldn’t even sleep because the pain was so severe. I became totally incapacitated. When I saw the ad for Optimum Healthcare, I felt it was a blessing. There now is a way for me to receive treatment without surgery, drugs or pain. After my treatment at Optimum Healthcare I am able to function normally again. I can walk, work in the yard and to the things I love to do. I am now a much happier and a more active person. Thank you! Myrna Duvall, 72, Retired, Sun City, CA

I was referred by a friend who had achieved great results at Optimum Healthcare. I had tried many treatment methods and had only slight relief, if any. I was always in constant pain. My last hope was the DRX9000 before surgery. After 4 weeks my pain was almost 90% gone. I can now walk pain free wherever I want for as long as I wan Thanks! You’ve changed my life. Facet Syndrome

Overview- Facet Syndrome is a condition where the joints of 2 vertebra connect together and become irritated producing pain.

A Facet is made up of a vertebra above and a vertebra below to form a joint called the Facet Joint. As the body bends, twists, lifts, etc. these joints help keep all of the bones (vertebra) in your spinal column in alignment. There are a large number of nerves in the Facet joints. These nerves constantly relay information to the brain regarding body position and joint motion, known as "proprioception". This is what allows us to sense our posture and movement. The Facet joints also provide information to the brain regarding pain or when dysfunction is present.

The structure of a facet is similar to other joints in the body such as the hips or knees. There is a slight cushion of fluid between the facets that is surrounded by a fibrous capsule. This fluid-filled capsule is what allows the joint to move without friction. Prolonged pressure from an injury or poor posture can lead to compression of the facet, loss of fluid and reduced motion in the joint which is often referred to as Facet Syndrome.

Facet syndrome is a condition in which there is pain in the facet joints. It is often associated with a degenerated disc. The most common areas where facet syndrome occurs is in the neck and low back. This is because of the way the spine is curved in these areas.

If left untreated Facet Syndrome can lead to hypertrophy (enlargement) of the Facet joints, arthritis and degenerative joint disease which, in some cases, if left untreated can become irreversible.

The good news is Facet Syndrome can now be treated safely and non-surgically using DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.

Causes of Facet Syndrome

Facet Syndrome has several causes. It can happen from an injury in which extreme pressure is placed on the tiny Facet Joints. It can also happen from aging. Poor posture can cause the spine to get out of alignment which can lead to the development of Facet Syndrome.

Facet Syndrome is very commonly associated with degenerative disc disease. It is not unsusal for patients to have both conditions.

When you have Facet Syndrome the tiny cartilage between the 2 facets is worn away and causes the bones to rub against each other leading to pain. There are also tiny nerves that branch out from the spine and connect to the facets. If too much pressure is placed on the Facet this can cause pain, irritation, and inflammation.

How Common Is Facet Syndrome?

Facet Syndrome is more common in in older patients. However, people who have had very physically demanding jobs, played high-impact sports, been in motor-vehicle accidents, heavy equipment operators, or had a slip, trip or fall type of injury are more susceptible to Facet Syndrome earlier in life.

The DRX9000 Is Effective in Treating Facet Syndrome

Relief from Facet Syndrome is provided by the DRX9000. During treatment the DRX9000 gently separates the vertebra involved as well as the injured facets. As the separation occurs the pressure within the facets is being reduced. Also, water, oxygen and nutrients are being "sucked" back into the joints to help rehyrdate and regenerate the much needed nutrients. Over time this process helps to restore proper function to the Facets. Patients who suffer from Facet Syndrome can expect to see decreased pain, increased range of motion, ease of mobility with activities, and less stiffness and soreness.

The DRX9000 is a computer controlled device that is used in the treatment of neck and low back Facet Problems. The DRX9000 incorporates an advanced treatment technique that slowly separates the bones of the spine while preventing protective muscle spasm from hindering the treatment. This decompression motion cycles between brief moments of separation and relaxation, known as oscillation, creating the pumping action necessary to re-hydrate the disc(s) and or facet(s). The decompression is targeted to a specific disc level unlike outdated “traction” techniques that merely “pulled” the entire spine.

The DRX 9000 is a comfortable treatment that will gently restore the health and vitality to those suffering from Facet Syndrome without drugs and without surgery. Most patients report relief within the first few weeks of treatment. Many patients are also able to reduce their dependency on pain medications.
